I can’t tell you how appreciative I am. This [podcast] is a resource I’ve been wanting since I started practicing. womensmentalhealth.org is a great resource, but the podcast is more relatable and approachable.

OUR STORY

Three decades of research,
now for everyone.

In 1999, I began working in what was then a niche area: perinatal psychiatry. At that time, there were only a handful of providers with expertise in treating women with psychiatric illness during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Patients often struggled to find care, and clinicians struggled to access reliable information.

To help close that gap, we launched our website womensmentalhealth.org. It’s hard to believe that was more than twenty years ago. Since then, the field of perinatal psychiatry has grown tremendously, and many more clinicians now specialize in this area. But moms are still searching for clear, trustworthy information.

That’s why we created So Glad You Asked with Dr. Ruta Nonacs and Allie Hales. After an incredible first season—and so many thoughtful questions from you—we’re back.
Season 2 is here!

With an amazing roster of guests, we’re continuing to offer honest, expert-led conversations on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, while also diving into infertility, miscarriage, postpartum psychosis, and the mental health of non-birthing partners—all with both clinical experts and lived experience.
