Allie Hales, JD

Originally from Massachusetts, Allie helped bring forward the vision for a patient-facing maternal mental health resource platform in collaboration with the team at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her work is rooted in the belief that maternal mental health is deeply connected to access to reliable, understandable information — and that women deserve conversations that are both evidence-based and deeply human. She is especially passionate about helping bridge the gap between clinical expertise and lived experience in a way that feels approachable, honest, and free of stigma. 

As a mother of four, her advocacy is also deeply personal. Her experiences navigating endometriosis, preterm labor, a NICU stay, pregnancy complications, postpartum mental health challenges, and parenting through the isolation of the COVID era shaped her understanding of the enormous invisible mental load so many mothers carry. Much of her own stress during early motherhood stemmed from uncertainty, information overload, and the pressure to make the “right” decisions while caring for young children — experiences that continue to inform her work today. 

In addition to her advocacy work, Allie serves as a Trustee of the J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation, and serves on the Advisory Board for Newborn Medicine and Reproductive Health at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Maternity Services Council at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, where she focuses on strengthening collaboration between families and healthcare providers.

Allie is also actively involved in her local community and her children’s schools, where she has served in volunteer leadership roles ranging from co-president of the parent group to room parent and other family-centered initiatives.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from Brigham Young University and has been a member of the Massachusetts Bar since 2017.

Allie lives outside of Boston with her husband, Riley Hales, an anesthesiologist at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, and their four children. Through her work in advocacy, healthcare, philanthropy, and community engagement, she is committed to helping women and families feel more informed, supported, and connected through every stage of motherhood.
