Buffy Sheff Ross, MSW, LICSW

Buffy Sheff Ross, MSW, LICSW is a graduate of Boston University School of Social Work and a clinical social worker at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. There, she provides therapeutic interventions and counseling for patients experiencing postpartum depression and anxiety. She also supports individuals and families navigating infertility, pregnancy loss, and complex pregnancy outcomes, providing compassionate emotional support during some of life’s most difficult moments.

Buffy brings more than twenty years of clinical social work experience from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where she held a variety of clinical and leadership roles. Much of her work focused on providing Psychological First Aid to patients and families in the Emergency Department. She later served as Social Work Manager, overseeing social workers across the Emergency Department, Obstetrics, Primary Care, Inpatient Oncology, and multiple specialties practices.

Her professional training includes certificates in Perinatal Mood Disorders: Components of Care, Basic Psychological First Aid and Post Traumatic Stress Management. She has participated in many trainings led by the Israeli Trauma Coalition. In addition to her clinical and leadership work, Buffy has served as a Faculty Field Advisor at Boston University School of Social Work, supporting the development of future social workers.

Outside of work, Buffy loves spending time with her family and dog along the coast of Maine.
